Floodplain mapping is a valuable GIS application for analysis of flooding risks in various drainage basins and watersheds.  LiDAR provides fast and accurate generation of DEM-Digital Elevation Models minimizing manual collection of data and survey. Post processing allows us to model the data and to create various scenarios and visualizations. Detailed XYZ data provide an accurate representation of the ground and different water levels can be overexposed over the bare earth, showing extents of possible flooding.
